Alase Laser Hair Removal

Alase utilizes the best laser and light-based technologies available to ensure the best treatment experience and maximized results. Alase laser hair removal targets the hair follicle pigment at the right stage of the growth of the hair and causes the next growth of hair to be lighter in color and finer in texture. It ultimately results in permanent hair reduction because it targets the hair at particular stages of the growth cycle. It only works on hair with melanin because it is laser and light-based, so it generally does not affect blond, gray, white and most red hair. Because everyone is different, Alase laser hair removal is customized for each unique hair color, texture and sensitivity of skin.

The hand held light or laser based instrument is held to the skin and the light passes through the skin’s surface to the hair follicles. The intense heat will damage the hair follicle which in turn, inhibits growth. This needs to be repeated several times, from six to twelve, depending on the contrast between the skin color and hair color. Light skin and dark hair need fewer treatments than darker skin and dark hair. Any area where there is too much hair can be treated except near the eye. The usual requests are for upper lip, face, underarms, chest, neck, back, bikini line, abdomen and legs.

Alase laser hair removal will work on any skin color as long as the hair is dark. It doesn’t affect the lighter shades of hair because they don’t have enough pigment for the laser light to target so that the follicle is disabled. Each person gets a customized treatment that will be the most effective for their hair color, skin tone and texture. The heat will be felt and for some people with very sensitive skin a topical anesthetic may be required. The end results will be permanent but it will take time and several treatments. Since the follicle needs to be targeted when it is in an active growing stage, and since the active growing stage varies for each hair, treatments are scheduled several weeks apart so that every hair in the region is treated when it is active.

All sun exposure for at least two weeks prior to and after treatment should be avoided. Sunblock should be worn with an SPF of 30 or higher. If the skin has been tanned or had sunless tanner within two weeks, treatment will have to be postponed. Also, in between treatments don’t wax or tweeze hair. This weakens follicles. Only shave if it is necessary to remove hair. The follicles need to be strong in order for the Alase laser hair removal to have the proper effect. There may be some redness and sensitivity after treatments, but some Aloe Vera or moisturizing cream will hydrate the skin and make it feel soothed.
